Research & Development wing of Vaidyaratnam Group, are the pioneers in several innovative and modifications in the medicinal combinations and therapeutic practices being followed for the requirement of the fast-changing lifestyles, but without compromising on the ground rules as defined in the ancient tradition of Ashtavaidyan Ayurvedic scriptures by the eminent scholars.

Vaidyaratnam Research & Development wing got the unique recognition, way back in 1999, from the Department of Science and Industrial Research - DSIR, Government of India.

Vaidyaratnam Research & Development wing is also focusing on validating the traditional knowledge written in ancient scriptures of Ayurveda through contemporary reading and establishing with scientific data so as to ensure its authenticity and propagation among the community of allied sciences.

One of the greatest achievements of Vaidyaratnam Research & Development wing is the isolation of fermenting aid from Woodfordia fruitcosa and which was recognized with a patent titled 'A process for the isolation of microorganism and a process for the preparation of the Herbal Extracts'.  {Patent no. 221394(479/CHE2004)}.
